Chapter 27
Roxanne
My eyes snap open and I rise up with a jerk. I frantically look around. My breathing is heavy. My eyes, alert as I look around. When I don't see anyone I take a deep breath in to calm my beating heart.
‘Everything is fine.’
I kept repeating those words while I brought my breathing to control. I had a nightmare of me beating that young boy mercilessly. A smile intact on my face, as I pummelled him with hits after hits without any remorse. It was horrifying.
His screams were the only sound surrounding me. His screams were all I could hear. A shiver runs down my spine in fear.
